Over here ...

Embora eu não seja um grande fã do homem , para falar a verdade , sempre que oiço alguém a defendê-lo fico com vontade de esbofetear essa pessoa , chego enfim à conclusão que em certa parte ele tinha razão: nós não sabemos votar. Tanto não sabemos votar que o elegemos como o Melhor Português de Todos Os Tempos- acho que fomos o único país da Europa a eleger um ex ditador , embora tenha a impressão que os Italianos acabaram por cometer o mesmo erro , mas pronto. E aqueles que pensam que os actuais líderes políticos pensam de forma diferente. O nosso primeiro ministro disse a alto e bom som que o Tratado de Lisboa não seria referendado pois os portugueses não entenderiam o que estava escrito- basicamente enfiou todos no mesmo saco e como que se convenceu que somos todos burros e que não estamos nem aí para aquilo que se passa na União Europeia . Por um lado concordo com ele , porque nós sabemos que só nos lembra-mos da UE quando precisamos de fundos para construir obras megalómanas e não só , tendo em conta que o prolongamento da linha vermelha do Metro de Lisboa até que não parece ser algo enorme ,mas verdade seja dita , as obras lá se vão esticando , tendo em conta que as novas estações deviam ter sido inauguradas em Março e se não estou em erro , estamos em pleno mês de Agosto , e até agora : nada . Quando forem inauguradas , os canais de televisão vão mais uma vez dizer que o atraso nas obras custa muito ao país , ou pelo menos , ao Zé Povinho que lá se vai divertindo com programas de televisão de qualidade duvidosa , novelas que pouco ou nada contribuem para o nosso desenvolvimento intelectual , e filmes extremamente violentos que passam à tarde , enquanto comédias soft passam depois da meia noite.

Review : G.I: Rise of Cobra

So film producers just couldn´t help it , could they ? After turning "Transformers" into a successful franchise , since the second film has already become this year´s highest grossing movie , Paramount executives are hoping that this G.I Joe : Rise of Cobra will follow on "Transformers" footsteps. But is it any good ? We have to remind ourselves that this movie is the adaptation of a very popular cartoon show , that was a huge hit throughout the globe , especially during the 1980s, a time when America´s military might had reached it´s climax. More than 20 years after the first episode , we find ourselves witnessing the release of what seems to be the first in a future line of films. The movie follows the adventures of an elite group of soldiers , called G.I Joe , that try to rescue the world of any sorts of problems and in this film the problems go by the name of Cobra. Cobra is a secret organization , even more secret than the Joe´s themselves and it plans to do the thing that bad guys in action movies usually plan to : rule the world. After we first meet the film´s main characters, played my Marlon Wayans and Channing Tatum , as they try to defend themselves from a vicious Cobra attack lead by The Baroness aka Sienna Miller, we immediatly realize that any ideas that we had about a sense making plot and a decent character development are simply thrown out of the window. This is a film that sometimes takes itself a bit seriously , something that the first "Transformers" smartly avoided. The characters are extremely one dimensional , the only exception being one called Snake Eyes , who doesn´t talk. The fact that Snake Eyes doesn´t speak , or has promised that he will never speak again after witnessing a gruesome murder , does deserve to be mentioned , simply because the dialogues in this film are just dire , apart from one or two , maybe three , lines. I´m trying to understand why actors who are extremely talented and have already proved it , such as Sienna Miller and Christopher Eccleston decided to star in this film , and so far I haven´t come up with an answer. Hopefully Miller won´t be nominated for a Razzie , but if she does , I´m afraid to say that she had seen it coming. Her Baroness , although amazingly stylish and slightly dangerous , is so badly drawn on a psychological level that not even a sudden change of heart sort of improves her performance. Dennis Quaid is clearly in this one because of the money and because his kids asked him to. Marlon Wayan´s character is the ultimate of clichés and one would have thought that starring in two of the Scary Movies would have taught him something. Arnold Vosloo, the actor who played Imothep in Stephen Sommer´s "The Mummy " does manage to deliver an interesting performance , simply because he´s the one who opens the door to future sequels. Other actors are just seen saying corny lines and acting like stereotypes . As for the one some are already calling " Hollywood´s new golden boy " , Channing Tatum...well , lets just say that he won´t be receiving an Oscar nomination for this. Yes , the movie doesn´t take itself amazingly seriously , but one would expect that the actors would try their best to find decent ways to work with the material that they had in hands. What really is quite impressive about this film , and I´m starting to think that it´s the only thing Sommers is good at are the special effects , which are quite impressive. The chase sequence that takes place in " Paris " ( since it was actually shot on the outskirts of Prague ) is clearly the film´s best moment , although it is a little long. The destruction of the Eiffel Tower is the film´s best moment and a final underwater battle does deserve to be mentioned , although it is way too long , and one finds himself thinking : " when will this end ? ". Stepehen Sommers´knows how to capture good performances from his actors , or at least , he was interested in doing it when he shot the first of the Mummy films , but with this one we have the feeling that he didn´t even look at the things that the actors had to say, didn´t think about rewriting some scenes and was only bent on shooting or supervising the creation of this movie´s gigantic special effects. Transformers was far from perfect , but we cared about the characters. G.I Joe isn´t a total mess , but there are moments when we hope that it will just end on a sad note , with every single character dead.

O governo diz que quer acabar com os famigerados "recibos verdes" mas nada ainda fez que dê sinais que o problema será resolvido , muito pelo contrário. Tenho para mim que muitas empresas devem ameaçar o executivo , dizendo que caso sejam forçadas a abandonar o esquema dos recibos verdes , deixarão o país. A precariedade existe mas muitas pessoas curvam-se porque pelo menos têm um trabalho , algo que não justifica muitas das atrocidades que ocorrem no mercado laboral. Fui meses atrás entrevistado por um importante grupo editorial português , que me disse que depois daquela entrevista teria que comparecer a outra. Foi-me dito por telefone que o local de trabalho seria outro , algo contra o qual eu não me manifestei. Uma semana depois , recebo um email a dizer que não fui aprovado pelo processo de recrutamento. A minha pergunta é esta : que processo de recrutamento ? Para uma pessoa ser avaliada , tem que ser vista a trabalhar , e tal não foi o caso. O que mais me indigna nisto tudo é que até então , sempre pensei que a editora Bertrand fosse uma editora séria , mas acho que de vez em quando , só acreditamos nas coisas por prazer , não por aquilo que elas verdadeiramente são.

Look to the skies ... and pray !

Ainda faltam alguns dias para as próximas eleições mas já as campanhas partidárias estão ao rubro. Depois de ter surpreendido tudo e todos , ao ganhar as eleições europeias ( que segundo muitos analistas seriam ganhas claramente pelo PS ) o PSD aparece agora com um partido à beira de uma divisão . Verdade seja dita que é impossível esperar que toda a gente concorde connosco e acho que Manuela Ferreira Leite pensa o mesmo. Admiro-a por acima de tudo parecer , e volto a dizê-lo : parecer , uma pessoa responsável , e quem sabe , tornar-se-á numa decente primeira ministra. No entanto , acho que muitos analistas políticos começam a dar José Sócrates como morto , muitissimo cedo , não porque a economia começa a dar sinais de uma ligeira , senão mínima , retoma , mas porque Manuela Ferreira Leite é talvez uma das razões que fizeram com que Sócrates fosse eleito. A obsessão pelo défice começou quando Manuela Ferreira Leite era ministra das Finanças . A grande diferença entre aqueles tempos , não muito distantes , e os de hoje é que o Iva não estava a 20% e o Mundo inteiro não estava a atravessar uma crise que muitos dizem ser devastadora. Mas se algumas pessoas leram ou prestaram atenção às coisas que Ferreira Leite disse e escreveu , lembrar-se-ão que a líder do PsD estava contra o aumento do salário mínimo : de uns míseros 380 euros para uns ...míseros 450 euros , e que quando não era líder do PsD , chegou mesmo a apoiar algumas das políticas do Governo , como a avaliação dos professores e o ainda controverso TGV. Poderá o PsD ganhar as eleições ? Acredito que sim , mas como o país tem estado estagnado , acho que as coisas continuarão na mesma. Já o PS , parece estar a ver se consegue emendar alguns erros cometidos ao longo destes últimos 4 anos. Os tão falados 150.000 empregos foram apregoados para inglês ouvir e a reforma na educação envolveu um computador que segundo muitos estupidifica ainda mais as crianças portuguesas. A única coisa positiva levada a cabo por este governo foi o referendo sobre o aborto , algo de que à muito se falava , mas muitos recusavam abordar. O Partido Comunista diz que o salário mínimo devia subir para os 500 euros , e que em 2011 devia estar nos 600. Tudo muito bonito , mas verdade seja dita que o PCP também diz que os ricos deviam ser mais penalizados, algo que numa altura de crise global , é deveras grave. O Bloco de Esquerda parece que manda no país , ou então os seus líderes acham que fora de Lisboa , os seus apoiantes contam-se aos milhares. A arrogância de Francisco Louçã como que rivaliza com a arrogância de José Sócrates , só que Louçã parece ter uma inteligência mais fértil pois as suas metáforas são um tanto ou quanto...caricatas. O PP anda por aí a abraçar feirantes e peixeiros , algo que devia fazer ao longo do ano,não quando há eleições à porta . Acho que basicamente o que podemos tirar disto tudo é que os políticos portugueses são medíocres : mais preocupados em encher o ego do que resolver os problemas do país , que são muitos. Perante isto o português prepara-se para escolher entre dois que parece que são todos da mesma família e gerem Portugal como se de uma quinta se tratasse.

Uma Verdade Inconveniente .

Devo dizer que embora pouco ou nada me choque em relação a Portugal , fiquei deveras surpreso quando presenciei a reacção de alguns advogados e juízes à mudança do Trubunal da Boa Hora do Chiado , para o Parque das Nações . Não sou advogado , muito menos juíz , mas se bem me lembro , à já algum tempo que todos nós viamos e acima de tudo ouviamos as reclamações das pessoas que trabalhavam na antiga Boa Hora .Tudo era criticado, desde a falta de condições do prédio , extremamente antigo , à pouco ou nula manutenção do material informático , passando ainda pelas pilhas e pilhas de papéis que se amontoavam nos corredores do tribunal. Eis que agora , quando são inauguradas as novas instalações , no Parque das Nações , os mesmos advogados e juízes que criticavam as más condições da antiga Boa Hora , atiram farpas a esse imenso complexo de escritórios que é o Norfin. Cada vez mais me convenço que nós portugueses ainda não demos um passo em frente no que toca ao nosso desenvolvimento humano diz respeito porque não sabemos o que queremos. Quando não temos , exigimos. Quando temos , criticamos e o pior de tudo é que nem criticar em condições sabemos fazer . Entendo que se critiquem os atrasos nas obras importantes como o prolongamento do Metro de Lisboa ou os anos de espera antes da reabertura do túnel do Rossio. No entanto , acho que , e voltando ao Norfin , todos os envolvidos , ou pelo menos aqueles que criticam as condições deste projecto , estão redondamente errados . É óbvio que nem tudo é perfeito , tendo em conta que muitos especialistas dizem que ainda há muito por fazer no que toca à melhoria das telecomunicações naquela zona. No entanto , acho de uma anormalidade imensa que um canal de televisão exponha as falhas do projecto , mencionando ainda que os vidros não são à prova de bala e que o comum dos mortais pode passar pelo escritório de um dos juízes mais importantes do País- se algo acontecer , acho que os jornalistas da Sic deviam ser responsabilizados. Se uma pessoa está contra a ida do Diap para o Parque das Nações, deve acima de tudo juntar o maior número de argumentos plausíveis possíveis para depois dissertar sobre este assunto. Alguns advogados e juízes acabaram por se comportar como crianças aquando da inauguração do complexo , tendo em conta que nem sequer foram capazes de cumprimentar o Primeiro Ministro , que quer se goste quer não , podia ter passado ao lado dos problemas e das queixas de membros do Diap. Sinceramente , no meio de tantas coisas que ainda não sabemos fazer eis que me deparo com uma que tenho a certeza deixará de me perturbar daqui a uns anos : o facto de nem sequer sermos espertos o suficiente para criticar como deve ser, ou dar valor às coisas que nos são dadas .

Medo das alturas ?

O conceito nacional de torre é deveras estranho. Em Portugal , um prédio de 14 andares , como o prédio da foto, é considerado uma torre , mas acho que podiam simplesmente vendê-lo como um complexo de escritórios. Somos um país com medo das alturas . Uns dizem que jogamos pelo seguro porque a costa litoral portuguesa pode ser abalada por um violento sismo. Outros dizem que somos um país de gente que pensa pequeno , que continua com medo de sonhar alto e que assim nunca a nossa capital poderá competir com outras cidades , como por exemplo , a vizinha Madrid. Mas porque razão é que até no que toca à arquitectura, nós temos que competir com os outros ? Já aqui mencionei que Madrid e Londres são mais imponentes que Lisboa , mas Espanha e Inglaterra são países ricos e nos não o somos. O prédio mais alto de Londres tem 50 andares , e o de Madrid o mesmo. O mais alto de Lisboa , que se não estou em erro é o Hotel Sheraton tem cerca de 22 andares. Claro que seria bom se a nossa cidade também tivesse aranha céus , tendo em conta que os arranha céus até são um bom exemplo de um bom aproveitamento de um determinado espaço , mas acho que temos que nos render à evidência : tal sonho , talvez , nunca passará disso mesmo : um sonho.

Rumar contra a maré ?

Embora toda a gente saiba que o nosso país , assim como todos os países do Mundo , está a passar por uma grave crise económica , não posso deixar de notar e mencionar algo que me surpreende sempre que vou a Lisboa : a cidade , ou pelo menos algumas áreas da cidade de Lisboa , parecem imunes à tão falada crise. Um passeio pela baixa lisboeta mostra-nos que a crise já ceifou uns quantos negócios e muitos que ainda não fecharam as suas portas , estão a pensar seriamente em fazê-lo. No entanto , especialmente durante as tão faladas "horas de ponta" , e numa cidade onde, na minha opinião , é mais fácil encontrar um restaurante que uma farmácia ( talvez até faça todo o sentido ) , todos os restaurantes estão simplesmente lotados. A verdade é que as grandes capitais parecem imunes aos efeitos da recessão global. Li recentemente um artigo online , no site da revista alemã Der Spiegel , que Londres é das grandes capitais europeias, a mais afectada. Diz o estudioso que o simples facto de Londres ter sido a cidade que mais investimento estrangeiro recebeu na última década do século passado, como que a coloca na linha da frente das cidades que mais facilmente podem ser afectadas por uma reviravolta económica. Mas mesmo Londes não pára. Escritórios podem fechar , assim como algumas lojas que fazem parte do chamado " comércio tradicional " , mas Londres , assim como Paris , Madrid ou Berlim, não pára e a cidade , pelo menos no contexto das Ilhas Britânicas , parece rumar contra a angustiante maré actual. Já Lisboa lá se vai pondo em bicos de pé para dar nas vistas , e acho que , e embora não seja um expert neste assunto , até que não se tem safado muito mal. O Barclays Bank acaba de concretizar o arrendamento de 5 pisos da Torre do Centro Comercial Colombo , assim como a empresa Fujitsu e uma companhia de seguros italiana , cujo nome não me recordo. Algumas empresas inglesas mudaram parte dos seus serviços para a nossa capital pois o aluguer de escritórios é practicado a preços muito mais acessíveis , e tal tendência , segundo alguns analistas , tende a continuar. Mas no meio de tanta singela alegria , algo devia chamar a atenção de todos nós : o facto da tão falada macrocefalia nacional se acentuar à medida que o tempo vai passando , tendo em conta que embora Lisboa não seja uma cidade rica , num contexto europeu, é a cidade mais rica do país e os seus habitantes têm um poder de compra acima da média nacional. A cidade do Porto também começa a despartar o interesse de grandes empresas como a companhia irlandesa Ryanair que tenciona abrir uma nova base no continente europeu , no aeroporto Francisco Sá Carneiro. Boas notícias para quem precisa de emprego , mas verdade seja dita que se tal está a acontecer pouco ou nada se deve às políticas do governo , cuja bandeira aquando das últimas eleições era a criação de 150.000 postos de emprego. O povo votou mas não perguntou que tipo de empregos seriam criados , em que parte do país e acima de tudo , quando seriam criados. A crise está a levar pessoas qualificadas a chegarem a um beco sem saída , onde ou acabam por ser exploradas em serviçoes medíocres , ou continuam a lutar , mesmo com as notícias que ouvimos todos os dias acerca dos díficeis tempos em que vivemos. Acho que acima de tudo o país devia investir numa campanha promocional muito mais agressiva tendo em conta que só mostramos diferentes partes de Portugal aquando do Euro2004 e actualmente só prestamos atenção ao Algarve e a Lisboa , que nem por isso é devidamente " vendida ", embora alguns turistas digam que ficaram positivamente impressionados pela nossa capital- se calhar pensaram que ainda andamos todos de carroça e que tanto homens como mulheres consideram o preto , a sua cor de eleição - uma visão , para turista ver .

His (Ours) Dark Materials .

Although we´re still at war against terrorism, and forces of nature seem to rally their powers and means of destruction against mankind , killing hundreds if not thousands of people, we are still pretty much obsessed with dark things. For instance , everytime a Harry Potter film is released , actors and producers spend most of their time saying that the new flick is the darkest yet. Everytime an episode of our favorite show decides to venture itself through considerably dark areas , we like to say that the show has never been better. Everytime someone dies , sometimes suffering the most gruesome death , our minds , that usually spend most of their time focusing on themselves , decide to take a break from periods of self observation , and pay a sort of undivided attention to some horrible crimes. But why ? We like to say that life isn´t fair and that things , especially during these difficult times , have never been worst , but we keep on watching things that show us how terrible and cruel this life can be. Yes , sometimes we do like to watch things that make us laugh and forget about all the drama that is ravishing the outside world , but then , the dark news story shows up and we´re immediatly and constantly hooked. The swine flu outbreak , that has already killed thousands of citizens across the globe , maybe be preparing itself to claim the lives of some of my fellow countrymen/women that have been infected , or at least , that is what some news presenters seem to be craving for. Before anyone was infected , they would start the news by saying that there were still no cases of people infected with swine flu in Portugal , when the virus had already killed hundreds of argentinians and other citizens of our planet. If no one was infected , and if the virus was still being studied for it was still in its early stages , why did they talk about it so much ? Because now that more than 600 people have been infected , and the number may end up rising a bit more , one fears that the situation may escalate and the first victims will start to appear . And how will the media behave towards such possible and ghastly events ? Will they exploit these stories ? Will they start a national head hunt seeking the identities of those who they think should be held responsible , when some journalists should be blamed as well ? Ringing the alarm as loud as possible has never been a solution to some of mankind´s problems . In such a troublesome world , I don´t think that the media should , instead of inform us , frighten us to a point where we become suspicious of those around us. But who is behind all this ? Who controls our desire to see things that we know will disturb us , but we still feel like watching them ? I´m not very good when the time comes for me to accuse others but I have the feeling that You Know Who may be behind this.

Review Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

So the sixth Harry Potter flick is already breaking box office records around the globe , and some critics say that it may end up being nominated for a couple of important Oscars , next year . When we last saw Harry , he was witnessing the death of his godfather , Sirius Black , killed by Helena Bonham´s Carter , Bellatrix LeStrange , and an amazing fight between Professor Dumbledore and his arch nemesis, Lord Voldermort. After realizing that unlike Voldermort , Harry and his friends from Hogwarts actually have something worth fighting for , it being the bonds that keep them together , we now find the entire gang dealing with their hormones , in this last installment. Ron is stalked by leechy Lavender Brown , whilst Hermione tries to avoid the moves and swagger of a fellow colleague. But as cute and heart warming as all this may sound , there are bigger things happening outside Hogwart´s walls. Lord Voldermort´s minions , the Death Eaters , are wrecking havoc throughout London , killing innocent Mugles and destroying important landscapes while they´re at it. Harry must now come to terms with the fact that his biggest enemy has not only returned but is interested in dominating not only the magical world , but the real/normal world as well.

Unlike the previous movie , Order of The Phoenix , that sort of rushed everything a little bit , although it was the adaptation of the biggest book in the series , Half Blood Prince drags itself a little bit too much . Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire was also quite long , but the movie also showed us larger than life action sequences that lead to the return of The Dark Lord. This one spends far too much time on all the dramas that are taking place inside Hogwarts , something that can be quite funny at times, but does become a bit boring , if not slightly tedious for some ( including myself ) . In a way , the producers made the right decision , exploring the books lighteer moments , since this is after all , the darkest Harry Potter yet ( I have been hearing the same thing since the release of Prisoner of Azkaban ) , and some moments , although light years from those that we see in much darker films , may be seen , by some , as disturbing if not heartbreaking. The performances are quite good , especially those of the "dinamic trio" for Watson, Grint and Radcliffe really do feel more comfortable in their roles. Watson delivers her second best perfomance in this franchise , the first being in Prisoner of Azkaban. Grint sort of has the chance to showcase his comedic skills , and Radcliffe manages to capture Harry´s internal turmoil , for by the end of the movie we feel that life has changed since we first met him and that he knows now what he must do. Alan Rickman is always brilliant as Professor Snape and Helena Bonham Carter is also quite good as the crazy Death Eater, Bellatrix. There are some new characters in this one : a new death eater , who isn´t given a lot of screen time and Draco Malfoy´s mother , Narcissa, played by Helen McCrory. Tom Felton , the actor who plays who Draco , also has the chance to show us that Draco isn´t just a bully but a rather intriguing character. But is Michael Gambon the one who takes the biggest slice of the cake in this one : some say that he looks like Gandalf ( a fatter version , that is ) , others say that he should have his own film. I say that Professor Dumbledore , aware of what is at stake , in case his mission fails , tries his best to norture Harry and prepare him for the final battle that will decide of our world. Dumbledore is funny, sad , engaging , precise and paternal and Gambon plays him to perfection - if anyone should get an Oscar for this film , that person should be him.

The special effects are an improvement when compared to those of the previous film , since we witness images that are both beautifully shot - Quidditch tournament, Dumbledore and Harry standing on a rock, looking at a cave , and amazingly scary ( for a PG film ) such as the destruction of the Millenium Bridge in London , and the final moments of the film that feature the appearance of some very mysterious creatures called "inferi" . The soundtrack could be better but perhaps Nicholas Hooper , the new composer, is preparing himself for a bigger challenge - the final movie , Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows , that shall be divided into two films , and that are going to be released in 2010 and 2011. All in all , a good movie , that delivers what it promises and prepares everything for the climatic battle that is approaching .

Back !

So I´m finally back , after a one year absence . Why , you ask ? Well , I guess that friends come and go , lovers linger around but in the end , we´ll always have our blog ( unless a hacker manages to invade our account and destroy all the things that we have written, but anywho...). So many things have remained the same since the last time I wrote something , and others haven´t , but then again , I don´t know if I can say that things have actually changed . One of the questions that has been tormenting me for quite a while is do things really change ? Or in the end , we´re the ones who are forced to look at them from another perspective , sometimes realizing that although a lot of people like to say "no" , this is still a " can´t beat them, join them " world . I tried to speak about that old saying " no man is an island" a couple of times before, but in the end , I always focused my attention on a different subject ( and I can´t promise that I´m going to stick to it right now , just so you know ) , but hopefully not this time. So they say that "no man is an island " . Well , I guess that in this extremely globalized world in which we live in , one does find himself surrounded by people everywhere , but I think that in the end , one can actually keep on being an island , if he manages to maintain the basic foundations of his state of mind . But how can we do it , in a world where our friends send us thousand of invitations , asking us to join them on places like MySpace , Facebook , Hi5 , and so on ? Is being a member of these so called social networking sites , still a cool thing ? Are the people that we know through them , really our friends ? Should everyone become a member of these types of websites ? I honestly think that before one sets out on a journey to meet others , he should first know himself , that way he will be able to deal with all sorts of misunderstandings or even serious accidents. Lets face it : it´s quite difficult to call someone with whom you´ve only exchanged some messages on Facebook , your friend , unless if you´ve seen him or her in the flesh , but even that doesn´t mean that the two of you can become friends . What if someone is only interested in taking some sort of advantage from you and realizes that you´re in such a dramatic mood , that any kind word or gesture ,opens the key to your heart ? I have said it before : instead of spending millions and millions of dollars searching for life on Mars , scientists should focus their attention on things that really matter such as creating a sort of device that sort of tell us exactly what type of persons should we become friends with , or even if don´t become friends with them , we can at least have a decent conversation and spend some decent moments with them. Some say that that instrument already exists and it´s called "brain" , but since the rosy image of the heart and all that crap that is told about it , as already been put away by some , we all know that the brain can be a dangerous thing and in such a crazy world , it´s hard to keep on being sane . If we don´t mingle , we end up odd , like Jodie Foster in Nell. If we do mingle , we face risks that we had never thought about, not even in our wildest dreams , so shouldn´t there be a middle term ? I leave the question open to anyone who sort of understood this rather disjointed post , or anyone who really knows about the types of things that I´m talking - they may be rare , but I´m sure they´re out there .
